Overview & Special Stitches
The crochet basketweave stitch is a 4 row repeat pattern using back and front post dc.
- This stitch is repetitive once you get going, so is quite easy to follow.
- It is reversible.
Front and Back Post Double Crochet:Â
- A front post double crochet (fpdc) is simply a dc performed around the leg of the stitch on the previous row instead of in the top of the stitch. Start your stitch from the front of your work towards the back, around the stitch and then back out the front again. (see the below picture for correct positioning of your crochet hook.) video demonstration of fpdc
- The back post double crochet (bpdc) is worked the opposite way beginning at the back of your work, towards the front, around the stitch and then out the back again. video demonstration of bpdc
- You will yarn over before you place your hook around the stitch and then complete the stitch as normal.
