The Crossed Double Crochet Stitch is a beautiful and simple decorative stitch with a two row repeat.

The cross is achieved by completing 1 dc and then the following dc is performed in the stitch before it.
For variation you may dc 2 and then cross the third dc over the 2. (you may need to alter the amount of starting chains)
It can be done with or without a row of sc in between the rows of crossed dc.
The below instructions will include the row of sc
Foundation Chain
Chain a multiple of 2 plus 1
Pattern
Row 1:Â
sc into the second ch from the hook and sc across. This will create your foundation row.
ch3 and turn.
Row 2:
*Skip next st and dc into the following st, now dc into the skipped st before your last dc, pulling up the yarn a little as you make the stitch so it doesn’t become too tight.
 Repeat from * all the way across. dc in the last st.
ch1 and turn.
Row 3:
sc into the first st and all the way across. Your last sc will be in the top of the ch3.
