Jeans Cotton is an 8ply 100% cotton Turkish yarn, reminiscent of the denim look.
It comes in 50g balls with 140m per ball.
A 3-4 mm hook or needles are recommended.(see my summary)
Gauge is 24 rows by 18 stitches to 10cm x 10cm.
There are originally 28 different colourways, 11 of which can be purchased in my online store.
The label recommends a warm machine wash.
It is labelled as a number 3 weight yarn which is equivalent to a 8ply or dk weight.
In Summary
As with many of the Ice Yarns 100% cottons, this is a very soft yarn and not hard on the hands at all.
The construction of the jeans cotton yarn has a light twist to it.
I found it to be a little lighter than the average 8ply.
I found a bit of splitting happening when using a size 3 or 4 hook, but when I slowed down a bit it was ok and I didn’t have any problem with a size 5 hook which I used for the mesh produce bag. (my smaller hooks are a little pointier than my other hooks, so that may have had something to do with it) I use aluminium hooks.
The Jeans cotton denim yarn would make beautiful accessories or garments and home wares as well.
I don’t really think it would be hardy enough for dish cloths, but definitely nice for a hand cloth/towel.
