lily sugar and cream yarn
Lily Sugar n Cream
Details
Lily Sugar and Cream is a natural, soft, absorbent cotton made in Canada.
- It is a number 4/worsted weight yarn.
- Sugar and Cream is sold in many solid and variegated colours in balls ranging in size from 56 grams up to 400 gram cones.
- It is a sturdy cotton, well renowned for it’s use in the kitchen and bathroom and around the home.
- The label recommends a 5mm hook or 4.5mm needles.
- Knit gauge (4 in x 4 in): 20 sts x 26 r
- Crochet gauge (4 in x 4 in): 13 sc x 14 r
- This yarn may be machine washed and tumble dried.
- Lily Sugar and Cream is a natural cotton yarn made up of 4 strands twisted together to be a worsted weight / 10ply yarn.
- It is soft and easy to work with, but does take a bit of getting used to as cotton yarns go. Personally I would not use any hook smaller than a 5mm with this yarn.Â
- It is the perfect texture for kitchen and household projects.
- Even though it is loosely twisted I didn’t have issues with splitting.
- It pulls easily from the centre of the ball.Â
- The label suggests that some colours may run. I have not experienced this, but I imagine maybe the darker solid colours could do this.
The below swiffer/mop cover was made with the Lily Sugar and Cream Yarn using  a 5mm hook. Scroll below for the free pattern or printable pdf.
This shade is from the Ombre range, colour number 744 Swimming Pool.

In Summary
- Lily Sugar n Cream is one of my go to’s for the kitchen and anything that needs a sturdy outcome.
- It’s absorbency makes it great for the kitchen and cleaning.
- As well as around the home I think the Lily Sugar and Cream has a good natural look that would be perfect for a market bag.
- The colour choice is huge.
