Overview & Special Stitches
The Simple Shell Stitch is a very easy 2 row repeat. Lovely for a scarf or a ladies top to name a couple.
Foundation Chain
Chain a multiple of 6 + 4
Pattern
Row 1:Â (right side)
- 2dc in the fourth ch from the hook.
- *sk the next 2ch, dc in the next ch, sk the next 2ch, 5dc in the next ch.
- Repeat from * across, until you have 3 st remaining.
- sk 2ch, 3dc in the last ch
- Turn.
Row 2:
- ch3 (counts as dc here and throughout), sk the first 3 dc.
- *5dc in the next dc, sk the next 2 dc, dc in the next dc, sk the next 2 dc.
- Repeat from * across, until you complete the last full shell, then dc in the top of the ch3 turning ch at the end of the row.
- Turn
Row 3:
- ch3, 2dc in the base of the ch3.
- *sk the next 2dc, dc in the next dc, sk the next 2dc, 5dc in the next dc.
- Repeat from * across, until you complete the dc in the the middle of the shell below.
- 3dc in the top of ch3 turning chain at the end of the row.
- Turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 for the pattern.
